Recently, the Branding Association of Malaysia (BAM) hosted the highly anticipated inaugural “Brand Legend Awards” at the Sunway Resort Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, marking a significant milestone in recognizing exceptional brands in the nation. This prestigious event, themed “Larger Than Life,” celebrated both established icons and emerging talents within Malaysia’s vibrant business landscape.
The evening drew an esteemed crowd, including the Royal Guest of Honour, Y.A.M. Tengku Dato Dr Hishammudin Zaizi, and notable figures such as Tuan Abu Bakar, Deputy CEO of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), and Encik Rizal Bin Dato’ Nainy from SME Corporation Malaysia. BAM’s Advisor, Dato Seri Dr Michael Tio, and Honorary President, Datuk Eric Chong, also graced the occasion, emphasizing the importance of branding in fostering business excellence and innovation.
Awards were presented in two main categories: Brand Legend and Emerging Legend, recognizing both established brands that have shaped the industry and promising newcomers poised for greatness. The event celebrated stories of resilience and creativity, showcasing how these brands have navigated challenges and set benchmarks for success.
“Tonight, we honor not just brands, but the spirit of innovation and perseverance that drives our economy,” said Datin Winnie Loo during his opening remarks. The Brand Legend Awards promise to become an annual highlight in Malaysia’s business calendar, inspiring future generations to strive for excellence and redefine what it means to be a brand in the modern marketplace.
