The Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant 2023 – Celebrating Beauty, Culture And Community Care

The Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant 2023, a dazzling spectacle hosted by D’Touch International Sdn Bhd and co-organised by MyShoppo Sdn Bhd, unfolded on the grand stage with 18 finalists who aimed to captivate the hearts of audiences. The crowning jewel of this remarkable event, the National Final Coronation Night, took place on the 13th of October 2023, at the opulent Berjaya Times Square Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

More than just a beauty pageant, the Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant 2023 served as a vibrant platform that beautifully showcased the diverse cultural tapestry of Malaysia. With an emphasis on tourism, culture, and friendship, this pageant contributed to the broader mission of promoting local tourism.

In the lead-up to the National Final, the finalists engaged in a variety of tourism and charitable activities such as exploring Coach Airways, experiencing the wonders of Safari Wonderland and being enchanted by the lush scenery of King’s Park Genting Highlands. This allowed them to embrace the spirit of Malaysia’s beauty and hospitality.

As part of the pageant’s initiative to promote a caring heart, the 18 finalists participated in charity visits to the Ti-Ratana Welfare Society and the Selangor King George V Silver Jubilee Fund. These visits brought joy and essential items to young children and senior citizens residing in these homes.

The National Final was graced by the presence of YM Dr. Raja Putra Shah, Advisor of the International Entrepreneur Chamber Malaysia, who witnessed the extraordinary evening where 18 outstanding finalists competed for three prestigious titles – Miss Malaysia Tourism 2023, Miss Malaysia Tourism Queen of the Year 2023 and Miss Malaysia Tourism Metropolitan 2023. The top 3 winners were Jen Cheang Shi Hui, Miss Malaysia Tourism 2023; Joanne Clare Deaves, Miss Malaysia Tourism Queen of the Year 2023 and Shelyn Poh, Miss Malaysia Tourism Metropolitan 2023. They received the coveted crowns and were rewarded with cash prizes and sponsored gifts with a total value of RM117,000. Additionally, eligible finalists meeting specific entry requirements received scholarships from Peninsula College, each worth RM25,000.

The winner of Miss Malaysia Tourism 2023 assumed the crucial role of representing Malaysia at the 26th Miss Tourism International 2023 World Final held from the 10th to the 27th of November 2023 at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. As Malaysia’s ambassador, she will promote the country’s tourism to 49 participating international delegates from around the world, with the crowning ceremony scheduled on the 25th of November 2023.
