Putrajaya Holdings Bags ASEAN Award For Excellent Occupational Safety And Health
Putrajaya Holdings Sdn. Bhd. received the prestigious ASEAN – Occupational Safety and Health Network (OSHNET) Excellence Awards for its innovations and achievements in promoting safety and health standards at the workplace.
Putrajaya Holdings was the only Malaysian company receiving the award along with 18 other enterprises in the Southeast Asia region being nominated by the labour ministries of ASEAN Member States.
Addressing the award ceremony, which was held virtually and telecast live from Vientiane, Laos, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Socio-Cultural Community Kung Phoak congratulated Putrajaya Holdings for its achievements that contribute to a better, safer, and healthier ASEAN Community.
Chief Executive Officer, Putrajaya Holdings Sdn. Bhd. Dato’ Hashimah Hashim said the win is attributed to the commitment from the team, its business partners, and the company’s ‘Generative Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Culture’ towards maintaining systematic management of HSE in all its business activities and constant improvement through strategic and action plans by leadership at all levels.
“We hope our achievement will inspire other businesses to improve workplace safety and prioritise the wellbeing of stakeholders while continuing commitment to raising health and safety standards,” said Dato’ Hashimah.
Putrajaya Holdings was represented by the General Manager Corporate Strategy and Communications Mohainee Tahir as head of the delegation who received the award remotely.
The ASEAN-OSHNET Awards started in 2016 and has continuously showcased enterprises that have set a high bar for occupational safety and health (OSH) standards. These Awards signify the commitment of ASEAN to promote closer public-private partnerships in improving OSH in the region.
This latest win also saw Putrajaya Holdings added to an already impressive list of HSE awards and accolades, with the prestigious RoSPA Health & Safety Awards 2020, The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents which acknowledged the company’s consistent efforts and hard work towards achieving the safety standards and preventing accidents at work, MalaysiaGBC Leadership in Sustainability Awards 2020 for Best New Green Commercial Building for Suasana PjH and the Prime Minister’s Hibiscus Award 2019/2020 for a notable achievement in environmental performance.
