Having wrapped up its first European trade and investment mission since the advent of the pandemic in Malaysia, the journey culminated in a Joint Gala Dinner held together with EUROCHAM Malaysia. Attended by a host of prominent government officials and distinguished business leaders from across Southeast Asia and Europe, the event was a prestigious coming-together that celebrated the virtue of intercontinental collaboration.

Delivering his keynote speech during the Gala Dinner, Malaysia’s Minister of Finance His Excellency Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul bin Tengku Abdul Aziz reiterated Malaysia’s commitment and determination to ensure the recovery of the country’s economy and toward strengthening national resilience to future challenges. He also highlighted the importance of the relationship between Malaysia and the EU, as well as that of the one between ASEAN and the EU, both of which continue to be fruitful and mutually beneficial relationships. 

Addressing the attendees at the Gala Dinner, Tengku Zafrul said “I call on your support and camaraderie to work closely with Malaysia to further explore the full potential of Malaysia and the ASEAN region… Malaysia remains resolute in our commitment to ensure that Malaysia continues to be a business-friendly nation with greater certainty, accountability, efficiency, and transparency in our initiatives and policies.”
