Stepping Into His Own Spotlight: Jaokhun’s Story

Born into a family deeply rooted in Thailand’s entertainment industry, Jaokhun has been steadily carving out his own identity as a rising artist with a passion for music. Jaokhun’s journey has been shaped by creativity, family support and personal growth. In an interview with Top 10 of Asia, he shares his musical beginnings, the success of “Talay” and his aspirations to expand into acting while continuing to create meaningful music that resonates with listeners.

“I was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, where I studied until the age of 12 before moving to the United Kingdom to continue my education through university,” says Jaokhun. “After graduating, I returned to Thailand to pursue a career in music and entertainment. I released my first single, “Don’t Get Me Wrong”, in 2019 under Jaymidi Records when I was around 16 years old. More recently, in 2025, I signed with Sony Music Thailand and I am currently preparing to release my first EP in June 2026.”

Jaokhun grew up with two brothers – an older brother, Jaonaay, and a younger brother, Jaosmut. “We have always been very close. Since we are only two years apart in age, growing up together was both fun and meaningful, and it taught me the importance of family support and companionship.”

“Both of my parents worked in the music and entertainment industry, so I was naturally exposed to this world from a very young age. Being surrounded by music and creativity played a major role in shaping my passion and inspiring the path I have chosen today,” he adds.

Among the most pivotal moments in his career was the release of his song “Talay” in 2023. “The song became widely popular and accumulated over 23 million views on YouTube. I feel that this project significantly expanded my opportunities within the music industry, allowing me to perform for larger audiences and connect with listeners on a much broader scale. It was a moment that truly helped establish my identity as an artist.”

“One of the biggest challenges for me has been maintaining a healthy mindset. I tend to put a great deal of pressure on myself and often overthink situations or doubt my own abilities. Over time, I have learned the importance of self-awareness, balance and surrounding myself with supportive people,” shares Jaokhun. “I continue to work on managing those pressures while reminding myself to trust the process and focus on growth rather than perfection.”

Travelling has always been one of the biggest sources of inspiration for Jaokhun. “Whenever I feel mentally overwhelmed or creatively stuck, I try to take some time away and visit the beach, which helps me reset and clear my mind,” he adds. “I also enjoy spending quality time with my family, as they give me comfort, encouragement and positive energy. These moments help recharge me creatively and emotionally so I can return to work with a fresh perspective.”

“Faith has always been an important part of my life,” says Jaokhun thoughtfully. “I was raised in a Christian family. Growing up attending church with my parents helped shape many of my values and perspectives. I also value humility, kindness and continuous learning. In addition, I often seek advice from Jaonaay, who works in the same industry, and his guidance has been very influential in both my personal and professional decisions.”

Jaokhun believes that success is not measured solely by numbers or achievements. “True success as an artist comes when the music you create is able to inspire people, comfort them, or make them feel understood,” he says. “Knowing that listeners can genuinely connect with my work is one of the most meaningful forms of success I could ask for.”

“I want to create and release a full album with a very clear concept,” he shares. “I would also like to pursue my acting career and star in movies. One of my biggest dreams is to create and release a full album; I would love to build a project that fully reflects my artistic identity and storytelling. In addition, I hope to further explore opportunities in acting and eventually take on roles in films in the future.”

“It is very important to genuinely love what you do and to be proud of the work you create. Success takes time, and there will always be challenges along the way, so enjoying the journey is just as important as reaching the destination,” advises Jaokhun. “Most importantly, stay true to yourself and continue creating from a place of honesty and passion.”
