Perfect Doc Continues to Champion Aesthetic Solutions

Against the backdrop of Asia Pacific’s growing demand for non-surgical and non-invasive aesthetic solutions, Top 10 of Asia caught up with Dr Michael Ong, CEO and Co-Founder of Perfect Doc, to gain insight into how the brand is redefining client expectations. In this interview, Dr Ong shares how Perfect Doc delivers visible, safe and customised anti-aging solutions through a combination of innovative Korean technology, exclusive skincare formulations and professional consultations. The conversation highlights the innovation, discipline, strategic thinking and professionalism at the core of the brand’s success.

Introducing himself, Dr Ong reflects on the foundations of his career and the evolution of his group. “I’m Dr Michael Ong, the CEO and co-founder of the group. One Doc International is a multi-brand beauty care centre in Malaysia, and Perfect Doc is our newly established brand,” he explains. Officially launched in 2023, Perfect Doc represents a strategic expansion shaped by years of industry experience and close observation of market needs.

Perfect Doc was born from a clear shift in consumer preferences across Asia Pacific. “We noticed that people were looking for solutions to remove wrinkles and achieve a natural facelift effect without surgery and injections,” Dr Ong shares. “Previously, many clients would opt for Botox or fillers, but the current demand is clearly shifting towards non-surgical, non-injection treatments, particularly energy-based device therapies.”

He emphasises the importance of technological innovation in the brand’s approach.
“That’s why we introduced the EMPulseTM lifting treatment, powered by ERIC (EMS-Radio Frequency Interleaved Cycle) Technology. It uses electromagnetic stimulation to activate facial muscles, promoting contraction and firming. Combined with radio frequency treatments that stimulate collagen production, this approach helps reduce fine lines, wrinkles and tighten the skin. The combination delivers a natural, noticeable lifting and tightening effect without surgery or injections.”

When asked what distinguishes Perfect Doc from its competitors, Dr Ong points to several key factors. “Firstly, we are an accredited training centre recognised by JKR under the Ministry of Human Resources. We also have a dedicated Learning and Development (L&D) department led by our Chief Learning Officer, Dr Chin. Before introducing any machine from Korea, we conduct in-depth research studies and develop our own skincare formulations, which are exclusive to Perfect Doc. This ensures optimal results with a strong emphasis on safety and risk minimisation.”

Professionalism is central to the company’s philosophy. “All staff undergo extensive hands-on and theoretical training. They must understand skin physiology, the devices and conduct detailed consultations before creating a customised treatment plan for each client,” Dr Ong explains. “Transparency is equally important. We showcase client testimonials on social media and openly share the science behind our treatments. We are results-driven, and even our outlets operate under clearly defined KPIs to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.”

Understanding client needs, Dr Ong emphasises, goes beyond following trends. “It’s about developing solutions that the market truly requires. For example, our EMPulseTM machine was carefully researched to suit Asian skin types. Before acquisition, we engaged directly with the manufacturer to understand the technology and mechanisms. After installation, we implemented meticulous in-house training involving more than 40 team members, requiring all consultants and managers to pass professional exams before performing aesthetic services for clients. This level of discipline creates a tangible difference in service quality and professionalism.”

He notes that this combination of research, training and product innovation has been instrumental in building long-term client trust and loyalty. “When clients undergo consultations and treatments at Perfect Doc, they can immediately sense the difference in expertise and professionalism compared to other providers,” he adds.

Looking ahead, Dr Ong is clear about the company’s ambitious goals. “Our goal is to be the number one anti-aging centre in Malaysia, with a strong focus on skin lifting, firming and tightening. Our R&D department is constantly evaluating new technologies and machines, integrating them with our proprietary skincare products to achieve the best possible results.”

Currently, Perfect Doc operates five outlets in Klang Valley, with additional locations in Johor and Penang. “We plan to expand organically while maintaining strict quality control. Staff training remains our top priority to ensure consistent results and uphold safety standards,” Dr Ong says.

Dr Ong’s leadership philosophy reflects his strong commitment to both staff development and client satisfaction. “I believe in hands-on leadership and empowering my team. I provide clear direction and defined job scopes, then allow them to execute. I focus on the results, coaching and regular performance discussions with the team. Accountability is crucial; my team needs to take responsibility for the results of their work.”

He identifies staff development as one of the most enduring challenges of his career. “With 57 outlets across our group, continuous improvement is crucial. Senior staff must consistently update their skills to keep pace with new technologies and ingredients, such as stem-cell-based advancements. Staying current ensures we continue to meet client expectations and remain competitive.”

The impact of this approach is evident. “Seeing my staff achieve stable incomes, maintain low turnover, and deliver results that increase client confidence motivates me to expand further. Creating a stable and supportive platform for my team is just as important to me as business growth,” Dr Ong shares.

Looking toward the next ten years, Dr Ong envisions Perfect Doc as a leader in non-surgical aesthetics and client education. “We make significant investments in our marketing and R&D divisions. By continuously updating technology, educating clients about treatments, products, and anticipated results, and consistently training employees, we stay ahead of competitors. Transparency is key—clients should understand both the process and the results.”

His long-term strategy balances brand growth with technological innovation. “We’ll keep growing our stores, investing in technology and training, and ensuring our teams deliver top-tier standards. Our ultimate goal is for Perfect Doc to be recognised throughout Malaysia and beyond as a safe, effective, and trusted non-surgical anti-aging solution.”

Dr Ong also offers advice to emerging leaders in the aesthetics industry. “Public safety must always come first. Leaders need to understand regulatory boundaries, uphold ethical standards, and prioritise social responsibility. Accountability for client welfare is non-negotiable.”

Throughout the interview, Dr Ong’s philosophy is clearly grounded in both professional integrity and personal commitment. “I always remind my team to stay ahead of competitors. Our R&D department explores the latest technologies, while our marketing team ensures clients are informed about ongoing trends and treatment options. We maintain transparency, sharing educational content, treatment information, products and client feedback. This is our strategy for sustainable growth and success over the next decade,” he says.

With its strong emphasis on research, training, innovation, and transparency, Dr Ong has positioned Perfect Doc as a rising force in the Malaysian beauty industry. His leadership style—empowering yet accountable—ensures the brand remains a trusted choice for clients seeking safe, non-surgical and non-injection anti-aging solutions. As the company continues to expand locally and internationally, Dr Ong’s vision is not just about growth, but about raising standards across the entire industry.

In a highly competitive aesthetic landscape, Perfect Doc stands out for its commitment to results, education, and professionalism. As Dr Ong aptly concludes, “Our goal is not just to provide treatments, but to transform lives by boosting confidence and well-being. That is what drives everything we do.”
