In this issue, Top 10 of Asia shares its list of the top 10 Most Inspiring Music Producers in Asia, talents whose creativity and dedication have propelled artists to stardom, and set the benchmark for musical excellence.
Howe Chen (Taiwan)
Howe Chen was born in Changhua, Taiwan, a small city where his passion for music began in high school through rock music and the electric guitar. Introduced to the professional pop music scene by renowned Taiwanese guitarist Ray Huang, he began his career as a concert musician and arranger before expanding into music production. Chen has created numerous hit songs and award-winning works across the Mandarin-speaking world. In 2022, he co-founded the independent label Fortune Cookie Music with musicians Han Li-Kang and Ziya Huang, focusing on discovering and developing new artists. In 2025, Chen was invited to serve as A&R Director at Universal Music, where he aims to help bring Mandarin pop music to the global stage. He also served as Chairman of the 11th Golden Indie Music Awards and has worked as a producer and concert music director for artists including Jolin Tsai, Lala Hsu, Sodagreen, A-Mei, Faith Yang, Accusefive, Rainie Yang, Wu Qingfeng, Eric Chou, Cyndi Wang and Cheer Chen.
Amp Achariya Dulyapaiboon (Thailand)
Amp Achariya Dulyapaiboon, widely known as the “Queen of T-Pop”, has spent the past 15 years shaping Thailand’s music scene as a songwriter and producer of over 300 songs, many surpassing 100 million views on YouTube. Her hits include First Love and Ping by Nont Tanont, Undo and Salakjit by Pop Pongkool, Song Jai by Da Endorphine, and Rak Oei by Bird Thongchai. She has collaborated with Thailand’s most prominent artists and produced cross-border projects with international performers. She has composed original soundtracks that have gained global recognition, including those for F4 Thailand and Cutie Pie, as well as many other Thai drama series beloved by fans worldwide. In 2025, she staged Her Verse & His Voice, a concert celebrating her catalogue of songs with seven leading Thai artists performing alongside her. Achariya has also served as music director for major survival shows like 789 and Lazicon, large-scale concerts, and Asian tours. Her award-winning work reflects a vision to bring Thai artists onto the global stage, though her greatest reward is seeing listeners find joy and connect with her music.
Ari Renaldi (Indonesia)
Ari Renaldi is an Indonesian music producer, composer, arranger, and mixing engineer widely recognised as a creative powerhouse behind many of Indonesia’s most celebrated recordings. Ari’s credited works have collectively surpassed 9.5 billion lifetime streams across digital platforms. Over the years, Ari has collaborated with many of Southeast Asia’s leading artists, including Yovie Widianto, Tulus, Yura Yunita, Raisa, Afgan, Rossa, Vidi Aldiano, Maudy Ayunda, Juicy Luicy, Sezairi, Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, and Dayang Nurfaizah, among others. He is the long-time music producer and arranger behind all four studio albums and the live album by Tulus, as well as the first two studio albums by Yura Yunita—albums that earned multiple nominations and awards and helped shape the formative sound of their early careers. Among his notable works, Ari produced, arranged, and co-composed Hati-Hati Di Jalan by Tulus, which became the first Indonesian-language song to enter the Billboard Global 200 in March 2022, marking a historic milestone for Indonesian music. Teddy Park (South Korea)
Teddy Park is an award-winning rapper, songwriter, and record producer who has become one of South Korea’s most influential music figures. Rising to fame as a member of the legendary hip hop group 1TYM, Teddy quickly transitioned into production, shaping the sound of K-pop as an in-house producer for YG Entertainment and later co-founding his own powerhouse label, The Black Label, in 2016. Forbes describes him as the “K-pop/rap star turned prolific music producer who has helped shape and aid South Korean music’s global crossover”, a title that reflects his impact. He has co-produced and co-written for iconic YG artists including Jinusean, Seven, Big Bang, 2NE1, Lee Hi, Blackpink, Jeon Somi, Uhm Jung-hwa and Sunmi, delivering both critical acclaim and commercial success. Teddy’s influence extends to film, producing the soundtrack for Netflix’s animated musical film KPop Demon Hunters (2025), including the hit single Golden, further cementing his status as a visionary force in global music.
Jonathan Suarez Manalo (The Philippines)
Jonathan Suarez Manalo is an award-winning Filipino songwriter and record producer whose impact on Philippine music is nothing short of monumental. Currently serving as the creative director of ABS-CBN Music, Jonathan has composed countless songs for ABS-CBN programmes, earning an astounding 75 multi-platinum and 100 gold certifications throughout his career. His musical journey began at just 13, when his first full composition, Aming Panginoon, became a finalist in a national songfest and featured on the compilation album Ikapitong Salmo. He made his breakthrough in the industry with the Himig Handog sa Makabagong Kabataan contest, winning the grand prize with Tara Tena, hailed as the “anthem of the youth” and performed by Kyla, Kaya and V3. He has produced hits for shows like Wansapanataym, Pinoy Big Brother and Star Circle Quest. In 2016, he celebrated 15 years of music with KINSE: The Music of Jonathan Manalo. Pdogg (South Korea)
Kang Hyo-won, professionally known as Pdogg, is famously regarded as one of the most influential producers in modern K-pop. As a record producer and songwriter for Big Hit Music, he has crafted the sound behind some of the industry’s biggest successes, working with artists such as 8Eight, Baek Ji-young, BTS, Jo Kwon, and Lim Jeong-hee. His journey began through an online composing community, where his music quickly caught attention. Early tracks like Come Back and Love for 8Eight showcased his talent and launched his professional career. In 2010, Pdogg helped discover a young RM and played a pivotal role in the formation of the popular boy group, BTS, later becoming the group’s main producer. His achievements are extraordinary—he won the Korea Music Copyright Association’s grand award for highest-earning songwriter and composer, cementing his legacy as a leading force in Korean music.
Yoko Kanno (Japan)
Yoko Kanno is regarded as one of Japan’s most visionary composers, celebrated for her extraordinary versatility across anime, video games, television dramas and movies. As a composer, arranger, and music producer, she has created some of the most memorable soundtracks in modern animation, including iconic themes such as Kiseki no Umi (Lodoss War), Voices (Macross Plus), Tank! (Cowboy Bebop), Yakusoku wa Iranai (Escaflowne), Gravity (Wolf’s Rain), Inner Universe (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex), as well as the whole soundtrack of Turn A Gundam. Audi Mok (Malaysia)
Audi Mok is recognised as one of Malaysia’s most influential composers and music producers, celebrated for shaping some of the country’s most memorable pop hits. Known for his sharp musical instincts and polished productions, Audi has worked with leading Malaysian artists, including the legendary Siti Nurhaliza, while also playing a pivotal role in nurturing new talent from television competitions. His songwriting brilliance has been showcased through reality shows such as Akademi Fantasia and One in a Million, where he composed powerful original songs for finalists heading into their grand finale performances. Among these standout works are Berdiri, performed by Suki Low, and Mahakarya Cinta by Faizal Tahir.
